CUA Swim Hosts Tri-School Meet

WASHINGTON- The CUA swim team hosted Marymount University and Washington and Lee University in the team's 8th meet of the season Saturday afternoon. On the men's side, the team fell to MU 148-93, and to W&L 166.50 -63.50. The women's squad also fell to MU 158-93, and to W&L 155-94.
The men's squad saw a number of promising performances, led by freshman Paul McGee. McGee finished second in both the 100 Yard backstroke and the 200 Yard Backstroke with times of 59.29 and 2:11.54, respectively. Luke Miller earned second place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:28.00) and third place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:06.37).
Kevin Cravedi earned third place in the 100 Yard Butterfly, and fourth place in the 200 Yard Butterfly. The relay team of Cravedi, Alex Robbins, Chris Gervais, and Brendan Place rounded out CUA's top finishes by earning second in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The women's team saw similar success from a number of Cardinal members. Lisa Brooks finished first in both the 100 and 200 Yard Breaststroke. Brooks also finished second in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:19.22.
Rachel Berry earned a second place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:05.62. Helene Nicoletti finished fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle, while teammate Rose Buckley earned fourth in both the 100 Yard Freestyle as well as the 1650 Yard Freestyle.
The relay team of Buckley, Berry, Nicoletti, and Anne Welsh rounded out the top finishes for the Cardinals by earning second in the 400 Yard Freestyle.
CUA will be back in action on Saturday, January 30 as they host Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
