Landmark Conference rewards Capozella for impressive weekend

WASHINGTON – Freshman Caleb Capozella was named the Landmark Conference Swimmer of the Week on Monday following a weekend in which he won six events and helped lead the Cardinals to a win in their conference opener.

On Friday, October 29 Capozella and CUA traveled to St. Mary’s.  The first-year swimmer won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke and also helped the 200 medley relay team to a first place finish.

The very next day Capozella kept it going with three more wins in a 173-81 victory over Goucher for CUA.  The Wisconsin native took first in the 100 backstroke, the 200 backstroke and the 200 IM as he capped off an impressive weekend.

Capozella and the Cardinals return to action this Saturday, November 6 when they host Susquehanna.  Start time is scheduled for 2:00.
