Ladas earns second straight swimmer of the week honor
WASHINGTON – For the second consecutive week, freshman
Joanna Ladas has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s
Swimmer of the Week, it was announced on Monday. The first
year standout won three individual events and helped the Cardinals
claim a dual meet win vs. Salisbury over the weekend.
Ladas won the 800 free (9:26.20), the 200 free (2:15.04) and the
100 free (1:03.03) in CUA’s win over the Seagulls, and she
was also a member of the first place 800 free relay team, giving
her four first place finishes on the afternoon.
With her honor on Monday, this marks the third time this season
that Ladas has received swimmer of the week accolades after
collegeswimming.com named her the Division III national
women’s swimmer of the week three weeks ago.
Ladas and her Cardinal teammates will return to the pool on
Saturday, November 20 when CUA heads to New Jersey for a Landmark
Conference meet vs. Drew. Action gets underway at 1:00.
