Ladas named DIII swimmer of the week by national outlet
WASHINGTON – Following an impressive first weekend of
collegiate swimming, CUA freshman Joanna Ladas has been named the
collegeswimming.com Division III Women's Swimmer of the
Week. Ladas smashed the Landmark Conference record in the
1650 free in CUA's meet vs. American and George
Washington.
Ladas made quite a splash in her first-ever collegiate meet vs.
the Eagles and Colonials as she raced to a third place finish in
the 1650 free with a time of 18:14.65. Ladas' time beat
the old conference mark by an amazing 25 seconds.
Also during the weekend, Ladas posted third place finishes in the
500 free (5:17.69) and 200 free (1:59.54).

Ladas and the Cardinals return to action on October 29 when they
travel to take on St. Mary's for a 5:00 meet.
