Luciana Maggiolo, a native of Coral Gables, Fla., comes to
Catholic University after graduating from the University of Denver
with a master’s in sport and performance psychology.
While living in Denver, Maggiolo worked for SwimLabs where she
instructed swimmers of all abilities and ages using Dartfish
technology in infinity pools.
Prior to attending the University of Denver, Maggiolo received her BA from The George Washington University. At GWU Maggiolo was a member of both the women's swimming and water polo programs from 2005-09.
She not only excelled in the pool but in the classroom as well, being named to the Athletic Dean’s list seven times and achieving All-Academic Excellent Status by the Collegiate Water Polo Association. While at GWU, Luciana was also very involved in SAAC and GWU’s Athlete Mentor Program.
Maggiolo was a member of Miami Swimming’s national team for five years, competing at the Junior and Senior National level. She has been an assistant coach for Miami Swimming the past three summers.
Maggiolo has international swimming experience as well. Since both her parents are native Peruvians and she is a citizen of Peru, in 2008 Maggiolo competed in Peru’s club nationals where she placed in the top three in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 Back.
