Kristina Purcell Earns All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON-- With 536 digs this season, Kristina Purcell earned second team All-Conference honors by the Landmark Conference.

The Conference's seven head coaches select the teams as well as a player, coaching staff and a rookie of the year.  Averaging nearly five digs per set, Purcell led CUA and finished third in the conference.  Her strong undertaking as a freshman will not go unnoticed across the league, as CUA turned around an eight-win season in 2008 to a 24-14 record in 2009.  

CUA finished the season with 24 wins and a 4-2 record in the Landmark Conference which placed them third in the conference standings.  The Cardinals overtook USMMA in the opening round of the conference tournament but a 3-0 loss to Susquehanna ended their season.  CUA finished 9-0 at home in 2009.
