D3hoops.com names Woerner to Team of the Week
WASHINGTON – Junior Jill Woerner has been named to the
D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, it was recently announced.
Woerner, who was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week
on Monday, averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4 steals and 2
blocks in two wins for CUA last week.
Woerner began her week with a 7 of 13 shooting performance en
route to 18 points in a 69-49 victory at Wesley on December
12. The Providence native also pulled down eight rebounds,
recorded five steals and dished out three assists.
On December 17, Woerner finished with 17 points, nine rebounds,
three steals and three blocked shots in a 62-44 win at
Stevenson. Woerner shot 5 of 10 from the floor and a perfect
6 of 6 at the charity stripe.
Woerner currently leads CUA in scoring (15.1) and steals (2.6),
while ranking second in blocks (0.9) and third in rebounding
(6.1).
CUA and Woerner are off until December 30 when the Cardinals host
the CUA Holiday Tournament inside the DuFour Center. CUA will
meet Thiel College at 2 p.m. with St. John Fisher and Washington
College squaring off in the other semifinal at 4. The two
winners will then meet on December 31.
