CUA remains 13th in this week's D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll

WASHINGTON – Two more wins helped CUA maintain its No. 13 ranking in the D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll, announced on Monday.  The Cardinals downed Susquehanna and Scranton last week to improve to 22-1 overall and 11-1 in the Landmark Conference. The 22 wins tie the school record, which CUA set just last season.

CUA, which is ranked 2nd in the Atlantic Region, began last week by squeezing past Susquehanna 54-53 on February 6 at home. The Cardinals saw their 13-point lead dwindle to just one in the final minute, but the Crusaders missed a pair of last-second shots to help CUA remain unbeaten at home this season.

On Saturday, the Cardinals traveled to Pennsylvania and delivered a 69-52 victory over Scranton. CUA used a devastating second half run to build a 29-point lead and run away from the Royals. Junior Emily Grabiak scored a game-high 17 points, and also recorded eight assists vs. only one turnover.

Also on Monday, the NCAA released its latest statistical rankings and the Cardinals checked in at No. 3 in won-loss percentage (95.7), 15th in field goal percentage defense (31.2), 21st in rebound margin (9.0), 32nd in blocked shots (4.7) and 39th in scoring margin (14.8).

Individually, Grabiak is ranked 3rd in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.73) and 14th in assists per game (5.3).

No. 13 CUA begins the final week of the regular season on Wednesday evening when the Cardinals host Goucher College at 7 p.m.  CUA is currently riding a 15-game win streak at home dating back to last season.
