Landmark Conference names Woerner Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – After helping to lead CUA to three more wins
last week, senior Jill Woerner was named the Landmark Conference
Player of the Week on Monday. Woerner averaged 15.7 points,
8.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals to help the Cardinals remain unbeaten
at 6-0. This marks the sixth time in her career that Woerner
has been named the Player of the Week.
Woerner began her week with 13 points, nine rebounds, four steals
and four assists in CUA’s win over Bridgewater on
Monday. The senior then registered a double-double with 18
points and 10 boards in a win over Salisbury on Wednesday.
Woerner added two assists and a steal against the Sea Gulls.
The Providence native closed her week out with 16 points, six
rebounds, five steals and two assists in the Cardinals Landmark
Conference opener at Drew over the weekend.
Woerner is leading CUA in scoring this season at 17.5 points per
game. She is also averaging 6.8 rebounds and 3 steals per
contest.
Woerner and the Cards are off for the next two weeks, before
returning to action on Saturday, December 15 with a trip to face
Washington College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
