WASHINGTON - Senior Emily Grabiak was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week for her performance during the 2013 CUA Fairfield Inn Washington, D.C. Holiday Tournament.
The senior captain closed out 2013 in impressive fashion, hitting the game-winning shot against King's (Pa.) in the first round of the tournament to go with a double-double of 20 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Grabiak also dished out 8 assists as she was just shy of her first career triple-double in the 71-69 win.
On Tuesday, the Haddonfield, N.J. native went off for 22 points on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc and pulled down 8 rebounds to go with 3 steals in 38 minutes of action. Grabiak was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament as the Cardinals captured their second consecutive tounament crown with a 66-49 win over Regis (Mass.)
This is Grabiak's second career Landmark Player of the Week honor, as she earned the award once last year on Feb. 25, 2013.
The Cardinals kick off 2014 with their final non-conference game tonight at 7 p.m. vs. Gwynedd-Mercy in the DuFour Center in Washington, D.C.
