WASHINGTON - Senior captain Emily Grabiak has been playing some of the best basketball of her career and the Landmark Conference has taken notice, naming Grabiak the Conference Player of the Week for the third straight week.
It was a career week for Grabiak, who continues to shine for Catholic. The Cardinals are currently 11-3 and have not lost a game since November. The senior captain notched back-to-back double doubles while averaging 28 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals, and 3.0 assists in huge wins over Juniata and Moravian.
On Wednesday, Grabiak scored a career-high 33 points on 57.9 percent shooting, and had 10 rebounds as the Cardinals took down the Eagles.
In the team's upset of Moravian, Grabiak hit the game-tying shot to send the game into overtime. From there, the Haddonfield, N.J. native scored eight points and had two steals to seal the game. She finished with 23 points and a career-high 15 rebounds while tying her career-high of seven steals. It was her seventh double-double of the season.
Today's honor marks the third straight week the Grabiak has been tabbed the Conference Player of the Week and the fourth time in her career.
Catholic is undefeated in conference play at 4-0 and sits just half a game out of first place behind Scranton (5-0). CUA returns to action on Wednesday for a conference tilt against Susquehanna, before heading to Scranton, Pa. on Saturday, January 25 for a battle with the Royals.
