WASHINGTON – Four Cardinals scored in double-figures to lead the Catholic women's basketball team to 81-60 victory over the Eagles of Juniata and to advance to 15-4 overall and 8-1 in Landmark action.
In the 21-point win, CUA recorded a season-high outing from the free-throw line, shooting 20-of-23 at 87 percent.
Senior Emily Grabiak and sophomore Josephine Migash led all scorers with 24 points and 21 points, respectively. Sophomore Jayni Webster added 12 points to the win, as freshman Michelle Desantis collected 10 points on a perfect 2-of-2 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. Grabiak pulled down a team-high six rebounds and four steals, while Webster circulated four steals.
The Eagles utilized home court advantage for the opening minute of play before the Cards paced to its first largest lead of the contest with a score of 17-4.
By the half, Catholic led Juniata 40-30.
CUA continued to be successful in the second half, reaching a 20-point 60-40 lead at the 11:14 mark in route to an 81-60 finish.
Juniata drops to 9-11 overall and 2-7 in conference.
Catholic will head to Madison, N.J., to take on the Rangers of Drew University on Saturday, Feb. 8.
