WASHINGTON – The combination of four Lady Cardinals scoring in double figures led yet another 20-point plus Landmark Conference victory with an 86-53 win over the Rangers of Drew on Saturday, extending the win streak to four consecutive wins.
Catholic, who is tied for first place with the University of Scranton, advanced to 16-4 overall and 9-1 in the conference with Saturday's win.
Sophomore Josephine Migash led the contest with 19 points, which was supported by senior Emily Grabiak 's 14 points and contest-high eight rebounds, sophomore Jayni Webster's 11 points and freshman Melissa Errico's 10 points.
CUA initiated the contest on a three-point basket by Webster, going on to best the Rangers 8-0 by the 17:46 mark.
Catholic extended the margin lead further and further in the first half, recording a 24-point 46-22 margin lead by the halftime intermission. The Cards were highly successful in the paint, outscoring DU 16-2 and also outscoring the Rangers 7-0 on second chances.
On an 11-7 run in the second half, CUA reached a 30-point margin lead by the 15:15 mark. With a jumper by Sarah Merchant, at the 5:49 mark, the Cards reached a contest-high 36-point lead in route to the final 86-53 mark.
CUA concludes its three-game road stand at Susquehanna on Wednesday, Feb. 12 with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.
