WASHINGTON - Sophomore forward Josephine Migash was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to two road victories this week and clinching a spot in the upcoming conference playoffs.
On Wednesday, the Mechanicsburg, Pa., native poured in a career-high 21 points at Juniata, and added five rebounds without committing a turnover in 30 minutes of action. She went 7-of-11 from the floor and missed just one free throw for the game. With the 81-60 win, the Cardinals completed the season sweep of the Eagles.
At Drew on Saturday, Migash scored 19 points and pulled down five rebounds. For the second straight game, she shot 7-of-11 from the field for 64 percent.
With the two wins last week, the Cardinals remained tied with Scranton for first place as both teams are 9-1 in the Landmark.
While this is Migash's first career Player of the Week honor, this marks the fifth time this season that a Cardinal has been awarded the weekly laurel. She joins Melissa Errico (12/9/13), and Emily Grabiak (1/6/14, 1/13/14, 1/20/14) who have already won the award this season.
Catholic returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12 when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., to take on the Crusaders at 7 p.m.
