Basketball Club of South Jersey Picks Grabiak as Collegiate Player of the Year
WASHINGTON - The Basketball Club of South Jersey named Emily Grabiak the 2014 Collegiate Player of the Year at its annual banquet held on Wednesday, March 26 in Cherry Hilly, N.J.
Grabiak, a native of Haddonfield, N.J. was the guest of honor at the banquet as the BCSJ recognized all of the South Jersey girls basketball high school championship teams. Additionally, the All-Area and All-Region teams were announced.
Wednesday's award brings the end of Grabiak's career to full circle. She was twice named an All-Region 2 Player by the BCSJ. As a senior, Grabiak led her Haddonfield Memorial High School team to the South Jersey Basketball Championship.
Grabiak was recently named an Honorable Mention All-American by D3Hoops.com. She is a three-time All-Landmark honoree, and was named the 2013-14 Landmark Player of the Year. For her career, Grabiak started 101 of 114 games and helped Catholic to a 90-24 record including a 45-11 mark in conference. With Grabiak as the primary ball handler, the Cardinals won back-to-back Landmark Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013. She ranks 12th all-time with 1,118 career points and added 740 rebounds, 446 assists, and 259 steals.
