No. 16 Lady Cardinals Fall, 66-51, to Trinity Tigers

Baltimore, Md. - The Catholic University of America women's basketball team dropped their Saturday afternoon contest, 66-51, to Trinity (Texas), in the opening round of the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament at John Hopkins University.

With the loss the Cardinals fall to 1-2 overall for the 2015 season, while the Tigers advance to 4-0 overall.

The nationally-ranked Lady Cards sunk 12 of 17 free throws during the contest with juniors Michelle DeSantis and Bernadette Launi leading the team, each making three of four. DeSantis notched 10 total points for Catholic, making three jumpers and two three point buckets. Launi earned 10 points, with three from the field and two from behind the arch.

Junior Melissa Errico pulled down four offensive and five defensive rebounds of the team's 44 total rebounds. Launi aided the team with eight total rebounds while DeSantis grabbed seven.

The Lady Cardinals continue their 2015 campaign on Sunday, November 22, when they take on University of Pittsburgh-Bradford in the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament consolation match.
