Cardinals Down Bison, 65-30, Webster Selected to All-Tournament Team

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's basketball team topped the Bison of Gallaudet University, 65-30, on Saturday afternoon during the Gallaudet Tournament.

The Cardinals outshot the Bison, 36-13, in the first half. Senior Jayni Webster put up 13 points in the first 20 minutes of play and a team-high 18 by the final buzzer. Webster was named to the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the contest.

Starting juniors Melissa Errico and Michelle DeSantis each displayed valiant efforts for the LAdy Cards as Errico led the team with nine rebounds and DeSantis dished out seven assists.

Catholic head coach Matt Donohue utilized his entire bench throughout the game. Sophomore Payton Smith tallied 10 points while sophomore Samantha Cowan and senior Josephine Migash each notched four during their time on the hardwood. Migash and Smith each grabbed five rebounds while freshman Nicole LaRusso pulled down three.

The Cardinals are set to host the 2016 Jamie Lynn Roberts - Fairfield Inn DC Holiday Classic featuring Neumann College, Gwynedd Mercy University and Kings College on Tuesday, Dec. 29, and Wednesday, Dec. 30. Catholic will face off against Neumann at 3 p.m., on Tuesday and Gwynedd Mercy at 3 p.m., on Wednesday.
