WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's basketball head coach Matt Donohue sat down with Hoopsville's own Dave McHugh to discuss the Cardinals' strong first half of the 2016-17 season.
As the campaign turns from the first to the second half, coaches, players, fans and pundits alike are starting to see which teams are doing more than just getting off to good starts. Now conference races are starting to take shape and we get an idea of how the rest of the season may play out.
On the latest edition of Hoopsville, Dave chatted with several coaches whose teams are either leading their conferences or in the battle for first place. Are these teams going to still be near the top come late February? What do they have to do to maintain their level of success? Dave even hit the road to Washington, D.C., to chat with several of his guests, including Coach Donohue.
Hoopsville aired live at 7 p.m., on Thursday, January 12.
Guest appearances (in order):
- Steve Moore, Wooster men's coach - NABC Coach's Corner
- Kevin Kovacs, Gallaudet men's coach
- Matt Donohue, Catholic women's coach (1:06 into the video)
- Chuck Winkelman, Calvin women's coach
- Dale Wellman, Nebraska Wesleyan men's coach
The Cardinals are off to a 12-2 overall start and a perfect 3-0 record in Landmark Conference play.
Winners of six of their last seven, Catholic looks to continue its hot start in a pivotal league matchup at home on Franny Murray Court this Saturday against Moravian at 2 p.m.
