READING, Pa. - Carol Schnepp scored a game-high 16 points to help Catholic break a three-game losing streak as the Cardinals downed Albright, 66-51, Wednesday night.
Junior Kathleen McGlynn scored six of her 14 points to help the Cardinals race out to a 12-2 lead off the opening tip. McGlynn added seven rebounds and a blocked shot.
But the Lions slowly climbed back in the game as Albirght's Laura Tangradi nailed a 3-pointer with seconds left in the first half to cut the CUA lead to 24-23. Tangradi finished with 13 points.
The second half saw the Cardinals shoot 50% from the floor. Albright had second half struggles, as the Lions were just 7-for-24 in the second stanza.
Freshman Jane Maybury's layup off a beautiful feed from Schnepp with just less than three minutes in the game gave CUA its biggest lead of the game at 62-46.
Sophomore Aime'e Meyer added 10 points and senior Tara Petrolino chipped in seven.
Catholic (4-5) returns to action this weekend as they host Trinity (D.C.) at 2 p.m.
