WASHINGTON -- Senior Carol Schnepp scored a game-high 15 points and her freshman sister Gloria had eight points and eight rebounds, but it wasn't enough to keep the Catholic University women's basketball team from losing an exhibition game to McGill University, 59-43, at DuFour Center.
Anne-Marie Scherrer scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to lead McGill. Shannon Howard added 12 points for the Montreal school.
CUA trailed 34-29 at halftime, but never threatened in the second half. McGill took 24 more shots than the Cardinals (61-37) and committed five fewer turnovers.
The Cardinals, 15-12 last year, opens its season against Arcadia University at DuFour Center on Friday Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.
