Morley, Schnepp nab weekly conference honors
WASHINGTON ---
Junior William Morley (Olney, Md./Good Counsel)
was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player
of the Week for Jan. 13-19. Morley, right, helped the fifth-ranked
Cardinals go 2-0 this week with a 78-60 win over No. 21 ranked Mary
Washington this past Wednesday and a 71-60 win at Marymount on
Saturday. The junior poured in 20 points and six rebounds on 5-of-9
shooting and 9-of-9 from the free-throw line against Mary
Washington. He also scored all 14 of his points on the second half
to go with six boards in the 71-60 win at Marymount. On the season,
Morley averages 15.1 ppg and 5.1 rpg. He is inching closer to the
1,000-point mark with 933 career points.
Senior Carol Schnepp (Maple Glen, Pa./Bishop
McDevitt), right, was named to the CAC Women's Basketball Honorable
Mention List as the forward scored a team- high 13 points and added
four rebounds versus Lebanon Valley on Monday and added 12 points
and four boards in the CAC win over Mary Washington. Against
Marymount, Schnepp chipped in six points and six caroms. Schnepp
leads the team in scoring (12.9 ppg). She has scored in double
figures in all but two games this season.
