YORK, PA. - Catholic couldn't hold off a second-half surge by York as the Spartans rallied for a 68-62 win over the Cardinals Wednesday night in a Capital Athletic Conference matchup. The Cardinals have just won once in the last five games.
CUA raced out to an 11-3 lead to open the contest but York stayed close with a steady dose of the three-pointer. The senior forward totaled 15 points and added four assists as Catholic led 32-27 at the half.
After Catholic built their lead back up to 36-27 on consecutive buckets by Schnepp and junior Kathleen McGlynn, the Spartans quickly went on an 8-0 run to pull within one. Anne Maguire's second trey of the game helped to restore a seven-point lead for CUA with 15 minutes to play.
In the next few minutes, the Cardinals saw their lead shrink. Catherine Elliot connected from beyond the arc to tie the game at 48-48 midway through the half.
York took their first lead of the game on a Kirsten Brown trey with 8:36 to play.
