MERTZ, LINDEROTH, ROJAS NAMED TO ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM (Feb. 28, 2006)
DEBORGER NAMED CAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK (November 28, 2005)
WASHINGTON-- Forwards Shannon Mertz and Kristen Linderoth along with guard Maria Rojas earned second team All-Capital Athletic Conference honors.
Mertz and Linderoth led the Cards in scoring, with Mertz averaging 12.6 points per game and Linderoth averaging 11.6 points per game. Rojas led the Cards in assists (139) and steals (61) while averaging 8.8 points per game.
The Cardinals will face McDaniel on Wednesday, March 1 at 7:00
p.m. in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference
South Region tournament.
ROJAS SETS SCHOOL ASSIST RECORDS
WASHINGTON-- With seven assists in the season finale
against McDaniel College, rising senior guard Maria Rojas became
CUA's all-time assists leader with 366 career assists. Rojas broke
the previous record of 364 set by Amy Tyluki, who played for the
Cardinals from 1999-2003. Rojas dished 146 assists this season,
breaking the single season record set by Lisa Kellaher in the
1985-'86 season.
