Linderoth scores 22 in her return to the court
NEWARK, N.J.- The Catholic University of American women's basketball squad opened its season on a high note with an 87-41 victory over Penn State-Abington at the Rutgers-Newark Tip Off. The Cards will play the winner of Rutgers-Newark/Briarcliffe Saturday afternoon. A quick trio of three's by PSA got them back in the game but the Cardinals once again went on a run inflating the lead to 22 at the half.
The good fortunes continued for the Cardinals in the second half as Linderoth dominated down low scoring six points in the first few minutes. A layup by rookie Nora Skrelji (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) at 10:16 put the Cards up by 46 points and despite a small run by Penn State Abington, CUA stayed in control and cruised to the 87-41 victory.
