WASHINGTON-- Catholic University G/F Brianna Peterson was
recognized as a Division III preseason All-American by D3hoops.com.
A 6-foot junior, Peterson led CUA in the 2008-09 season with 545 points and 159 rebounds. She earned a first team all-conference nod by the Landmark Conference with her league-leading 21.8 points per game. She was also named to the All-Atlantic Region first team and was fifth in the nation in points per game. Peterson was named to the preseason All-American third team in 2009.
Peterson played in 25 games in 2008-09, starting every contest. Her .453 from the field and .711 from the charity stripe were top marks among Cardinal regulars.
With strong returners and a group of solid incoming freshmen, the 2009-10 Cardinals are poised to turn heads as the season gets underway. The Cardinals are currently 1-1 and are looking to improved against a tough opponent in Ferrum at the Marymount tournament this weekend.
