Women's Basketball Falls to Juniata 73-51
WASHINGTON-- Kate Robinson hit double figures for the Cardinals, but CUA (12-8, 4-5 LC) fell to Juniata (12-8, 5-3 LC) on Saturday afternoon in Landmark Conference action, 73-51.
Jen Hnatuck led the way for Juniata, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine boards.
The Cardinals never led, as the hosts hit a triple to open the game and maintained no less than a three point lead throughout the contest. Juniata broke out to a 26-12 lead with 7:52 to go in the first half. CUA scored the next seven points to slice the lead in half, but the hosts did not let up.
At the break the Cardinals trailed 38-22 and in the second half climbed no closer.
In the contest CUA shot 37.3% from the field and was out rebounded 51-33. Juniata grabbed 22 offensive boards and converted those second chances into 14 points.
CUA will return to action Friday, Feb., 5, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. when Moravian travels to the DuFour Center for the Cardinals' final home weekend of regular season Landmark Conference action.
