D3hoops.com names Woerner to All-Middle Atlantic Team

WASHINGTON – Sophomore Jill Woerner was named a third team All-Middle Atlantic Region selection by D3hoops.com on Tuesday.  Woerner displayed her versatility all season long for the Cardinals, ranking in the top-ten in the Landmark Conference in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, steals and blocks.

Woerner shot 46 percent from the field for the season, including 13 games in which she hit at least half of her attempts.  She knocked down a season best 70 percent in the season opener vs. Eastern Mennonite en route to 18 points.

In addition to her scoring and rebounding prowess, Woerner totaled 73 steals (2.6 per game) and 43 blocked shots (1.5 per game).  The Providence, R.I. native notched at least two steals in 20 games with a high of six coming in two games.  Woerner’s season-high in blocks was six which came vs. Susquehanna in late January.

A two time Landmark Conference Player of the Week, Woerner earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team after being named the Rookie of the Year last season.

Following two seasons at CUA Woerner has totaled 708 points and 368 rebounds.
