Numerous All-Landmark Honors for CUA Women's Lacrosse
Robinson named Landmark Conference Player of the Year

WASHINGTON - The #17 Catholic University of America women's lacrosse squad was recognized for its undefeated conference record and national ranking Tuesday as six players were named to the All-Landmark Conference team.  Additionally, sophomore Kate Robinson (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) was selected as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year and the coaching staff was named the Landmark Staff of the Year.  Robinson was one of five Cardinals on the first team, while CUA placed one on the second team.

Robinson currently leads the Cardinals in goals, assists and points with 70, 24 and 94, respectively.  The sophomore midfielder ranks second in the conference in both assists and points per game as well as fourth in draw controls (3.47/game) and fifth in ground balls (2.76).  She was the Landmark Conference Player of the Week earlier in the season and has had a number of big games scoring with three seven-goal contests and one eight-goal performance.  Last year she was second team All-Capital Athletic Conference, CAC Rookie of the Year, CUA Athlete of the Year and an all-region selection.

Defender Caitlin O'Neill (Germantown, Md./Holy Child) was also a first team selection.  The senior has a team-best 22 caused turnovers on the season along with ten goals and five assists.  O'Neill was picked as a pre-season All-American, named Landmark Player of the Week and has been all-conference three years in a row.  Last year she was also selected as a regional All-American.

Marcy Cuneo (Haddonfield, N.J./Camden Catholic) was the other midfielder named to the first team.  The senior ranks third on the squad in goals with 30 and second on the team in assists notching 19 for 49 points on the year.  She is also second on the team in ground balls with 31.   Junior Lindsay Bitonti (North Potomac, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) was also picked the first team as a defender, she has one goal, two assists 21 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers to her credit.  Rounding out the first team is freshman Katie Buonpastore (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) who was one of three attacks and three freshman on the list.  Buonpastore is fourth overall in points with 30 (12 goals, 18 assists), she moved into the starting lineup midway through the season and has made here mark.  She also has 17 ground balls in her rookie campaign.

Katie Bitonti (North Potomac, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) was the lone CUA player on the second team.  The junior midfielder is sixth on the squad in points with 18 goals and six assists for 24 points but is also third on the team in ground balls with 27 as well as 12 caused turnovers.

Head Coach Meghan O'Connor McDonogh and her staff were selected as the Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year after taking this team to the regular season championship and a national ranking in only her second year at the helm.  Under McDonogh, the Cards are 24-9 and have posted a program best 13 wins in a season.

The Cards are currently 13-4 and finished the conference season 5-0 earning the top spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament.  CUA will host fourth-seeded Susquehanna on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., at Cardinal Stadium.
