Swarthout named Landmark Conference Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Mary Swarthout has been named the Landmark
Conference Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
The senior scored eight goals and totaled 14 draw controls, five
ground balls and three caused turnovers in a pair of games for CUA
last week.
Swarthout found the back of the net six times in CUA’s loss
to No. 6 Salisbury on March 3. Swarthout also won nine draw
controls, and three of her goals came on free position shots.
Earlier in the week, Swarthout netted a pair of goals and dished
out an assist, to go along with five draw controls and three caused
turnovers in the Cardinals season opener vs. No. 18 Mary
Washington.
Swarthout currently leads CUA in goals, points, draw controls, and
caused turnovers.
Swarthout and the Cardinals play twice this week, with both games
taking place on Tuesday in South Carolina. CUA will take on
SUNY-IT beginning at 10 a.m. and Misericordia at 2 p.m.
