IWLCA names seven Cardinals to Honor Roll, led by Vogel
WASHINGTON – Seven Cardinals have been named to the 2012 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, it was recently announced. Leading the way for CUA was Mallory Vogel, who was named the IWLCA Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year in June. In all, 246 student-athletes from across the country were named to the honor roll.
Joining Vogel on the honor roll are Lauren Bernstein, Sarah Lindell, Katie Miller, Mary Robinson, Caroline Scalamandre and Mary Swarthout.
All student-athletes on the honor roll were nominated by their schools and have achived at least junior status academically.
Earlier this week, CUA was honored as an IWLCA Academic Squad for the sixth straight year. In order to be eligible, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Cardinals won their fifth straight Landmark Conference title last season and advanced to the Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in five years.
Individually, CUA produced its first two-time First Team All-American in Swarthout, to go along with four All-Region selections and six All-Conference honorees.
