Pehnke earns second conference Player of the Week award
WASHINGTON – For the second time in four weeks, Tricia Pehnke has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Pehnke helped lead the Cardinals to two wins last week, totaling 13 saves in 90 minutes of action.
Pehnke began her week with a two-save effort in 30 minutes of work in the Cardinals' 22-9 win at McDaniel on Wednesday.
The freshman then started and played the entire 60 minutes in a 15-6 win over Elizabethtown on Saturday, totaling 11 saves and three ground balls. Pehnke finished the week with a 61.9 save percentage.
Pehnke has appeared in seven games this season, and started four. She has posted a 6.93 goals against average and totaled 32 saves in 277 minutes of action. She has yet to lose this season as well, going a perfect 5-0 for the Cards.
CUA plays twice this week, beginning with a 6 p.m. contest at Rowan on Wednesday. The Cardinals then close out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to face Scranton in a noon showdown.
