WASHINGTON- Five Cardinals were selected to All-Landmark Conference teams on Thursday. Lindsey Brophy, Caroline DiBartolomeo, and Caroline Scalamandre were named to the First Team, while Megan Gormley and Kelly Neligan were selected to the Second Team.
Brophy led the Cardinals in goals with 57 and assists (16). She
also led the Landmark Conference with 20 goals in conference games.
She scored a season high six goals against Goucher and five goals
against three different opponents.
Midfielder, DiBartolomeo, was crucial to the Cardinals' transition defense and scored 34 goals including six goals against St. Mary’s and four against No. 4 Courtland.
Scalamandre was a strong defender for the Cardinals, particularly off the draw as she picked up 45 draw controls during the regular season. She also caused 12 turnovers this season including four in the Landmark Conference championship game against Susquehanna.
Defense specialist Gormley, appeared in 18 games with 16 starts for the Cardinals. She caused 12 turnovers and scooped up 37 groundballs.
Awards are rolling in for the senior defensive player, Neligan, as she was named to the IWLCA DIII team and selected to participate in North-South All-Star Game. She finished the season with one assist, 44 groundballs, 13 draw controls, and led the Cardinals in caused turnovers with 21.
