Landmark Selects Altringer as Defensive Player of the Week

Full Landmark Release

WASHINGTON - Freshman defender Miranda Altringer was selected as the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week following the team's second shutout of the season, a 19-0 win at Merchant Marine.

The Voorhees, N.J. native recorded three caused turnovers and scooped up one ground ball as CUA forced 21 USMMA turnovers. The stifling defense denied the Mariners of transition opportunities, as USMMA was just 1-of-14 on clear attempts and managed just one shot during the game.

As a team, the Cardinals ranked first in the Landmark in caused turnovers, averaging 12.5 per game and are second with a 9.88 goals against average.

Altringer is the second straight Cardinal to be named a Landmark Player of the Week this season. Victoria Neill was named last week's Defensive Player of the Week on March 24.
