No. 5 Cardinals Fall to No. 8 Generals

WASHINGTON - No. 5 The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse fell to No. 8 Washington & Lee University 18-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Catholic senior Laura Dunn scored the Cardinals' first two goals. The Cardinals third goal came from sophomore Jessica Lyons assisted by Dunn.

Catholic rookie Wendy El caused four turnovers while sophomore Erin Dugan forced two. Seniors Clair Schmitzer and Rachel Meyer each picked up four ground balls.

Freshman Nanci Hernandez and sophomore Christina De Cesaris each played a half between the pipes and collectively made six saves.

Washington & Lee junior Jess Castelo and sophomore Cordelia Peters led the Generals offices and each scored four goals. Freshman goalie Elliot Gilbert made five saves.

The Cardinals host Drew University on Saturday, March 25 at 12 p.m., to open conference play.
