WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team captured its third Landmark Conference victory of the season with a 22-10 triumph over the Susquehanna University River Hawks.
Catholic had eleven different goal scorers including junior Nicolette Crisalli who led the team with seven goals and three assists. The Cardinals won 22-of-33 draws control with sophomore Erin Dugan winning seven.
Catholic senior Alexis Bosilovic scored the game-opening goal on a free position opportunity. The River Hawks answered with one before the Cards went on a 10-goal run with scores from Crisalli (3), Bosilovic, seniors Clair Schmitzer and Laura Dunn along with freshmen Katie Bradbury (2), Julia Clementi and Holly Regan.
Susquehanna came away with four additional goals in the first and Crisalli and Sherry each added another. Catholic sophomore Megan Ellis ended the half with back-to-back goals to give the Cardinals a 15-5 lead at the break.
Susquehanna opened the second half with two goals before Catholic registered four in a row from Crisalli (2), senior Ana Brandenburg and sophomore Katie Sherry. The River Hawks finished the game with three more scores while Sherry, Bradbury and Crisalli tallied another and sophomore Jessica Lyons recorded the Cardinals final goal of the day.
The Cardinals will play on the road, Sunday, April 9 when they take on No. 16 Mary Washington at 3:30 p.m.
