WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team clinched a spot in the Landmark Conference playoffs and remains undefeated in league play (4-0) with a 22-4 victory over Goucher College on Wednesday night.
Catholic senior Laura Dunn led the way for the Cardinals with seven total points on three goals and four assists. Dunn recorded an assist on freshman Katie Bradbury's game-opening goal as well as on junior Nicolette Crisalli's game-winning goal and sophomore Megan Ellis' insurance goal.
Crisalli registered four goals in the conference victory while Bradbury and Ellis each notched three.
The Cardinals had 11 players contribute a goal to their 14-goal first half. Senior Elizabeth McCooey scored two first half goals while her classmates Alexis Bosilovic, Emily Merkel, Clair Schmitzer, Jenna Van Middelem and Dunn along with freshman Allyson Criscuolo each scored one. Crisalli scored three in the opening 30 minutes and Bradbury recorded two while Ellis notched one.
Dunn opened the second half with back-to-back scores before fellow senior Allie Bond, who won 7 draw controls, recorded her first goal of 2017.
Senior Ana Brandenburg followed with Catholic's 18th goal before Ellis went back-to-back. Bradbury and Crisalli each put one more in the back of the cage to complete the Landmark victory.
The Cardinals will remain on the road with a Landmark Conference matchup at Moravian College at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 22.
