Ambrosetti, Abbonizio all-CAC
WASHINGTON - Junior midfielders Kristi Ambrosetti (Edgewater, Md./St. Mary's High) and Kate Abbonizio (Upper Darby, Pa./Archbishop Pendergast) were named second-team All-Capital Athletic Conference in women's lacrosse. It was Ambrosetti's second consecutive selection to the team.

Ambrosetti, a second-team South Atlantic All-Region selection in 2000, was Catholic University's third-leading scorer with 36 points on 28 goals and eight assists. She led the team in draw controls (46) and was second in shot percentage (.459). She equaled her career high in goals with seven in a 13-8 victory against Whittier.

Abbonizio, who was selected as a defender, tied for the Cardinals' team lead in caused turnovers with 28. She scored a career-high 15 goals and added six assists to rank fifth on the club in scoring. She tied her personal high in goals with four in an 18-10 win at Virginia Wesleyan, and was third on the team in shot percentage (.429).

CUA finished 4-9 in 2001.
