Kate Abbonizio scored a pair of goals and had an assist on Senior Day.

WASHINGTON - Catholic handed Manhattanville an 18-7 defeat in non-conference action on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at DuFour Field. It was the fifth win in a row for the Cardinals as they prepare for playoff action next week.

Four Cardinals scored three goals apiece as Catholic used a 7-0 run midway through the first half to seemingly put the game away. CUA led 11-4 at the half and opened the second half, widening its lead to as much as 13 goals.

Five seniors were honored before the game including Kate Abbonizio (Upper Darby, Pa./Archbishop Pendergrast), Chrissy Donahue (Collingdale, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara), Ann Lawall (Newtown, Pa./Villa Maria), Amanda Lewis (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes), and Liz Wallace (East Northport, NY/St. Anthony's).

April Yeomans led the Valiants with four goals while teammate Angela Lozado tallied twice.

The Cardinals will take on Goucher in the first round of the CAC playoffs on Tuesday at DuFour Field at 4:30 p.m.
