ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Catholic had its 2002 season come to an end as the Cardinals fell in the semifinals of the CAC tournament to top-seeded St. Mary's, 18-4, Friday afternoon.

St. Mary's Meg McFall, the CAC's leading goal scorer, led all scorers with six goals. Senior Kate Abbonizio (Upper Darby, Pa./ Archbishop Pendergrast) led CUA with two goals, both in the second half.

The Seahawks, unbeaten and ranked No. 4 in the country in the latest IWLCA Top 20, raced out to 7-0 first-half lead before sophomore Ali Jarden (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) scored an unassisted tally with nine minutes in the period.

Freshman Kristen Wisniewski (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) also scored for Catholic.

SMC then put the game away by outscoring CUA 10-4 in the second half including six unanswered goals to end the game.
