Jarden, Thornton named All-CAC

WASHINGTON -- Senior Ali Jarden (Spring Lake, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) and junior Christine Thornton (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./County Day Sacred Heart) were honored with second team selections on the 2004 Capital Athletic Conference All-CAC Teams.

Jarden led the Cardinals in goals (46), assists (15), and points (61). Her 46 tallies and her 4.36 points per game ranked her second in the CAC. She netted a season- and career-high eight goals in a 12-11 win at Frostburg State back on April 6th. She finishes her career with 145 points on 118 goals and 27 assists.

Thornton was just as impressive, leading the squad with 59 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers. She averaged 4.21 ground balls a game, ranking her second in the conference. Thornton also added six goals and seven assists on the season.

Catholic finished 6-8 in 2004 under sixth-year head coach Kristine Manning.
