Catholic Makes Debut in IWLCA Top 20

WASHINGTON (March 6, 2005) -- The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team currently ranks 19th in the nation, according  to the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll. This is the first top 20 ranking for the Cardinals since the program was founded in 1998.

The Cardinals, who stand at 8-3 overall and 2-2 in the competitive Capital Athletic Conference, secured the placement with four wins -- one over #16 Goucher College -- last week. With a six-game winning streak, the team looks to break the program record with a victory today over Virginia Wesleyan College.
