WASHINGTON--
Even while playing basketball for CUA, Kate Robinson is beginning her 2010 women's lacrosse season in the cold of winter. Robinson was named DIII Preseason Player of the Year by Lacrosse Magazine while the team earned the No. 7 ranking.

Robinson finished the 2009 season with team leading statistics in shots (170), shots on goal (128), points (121), goals (77), assists (44), and caused turnovers (45). Her 121 points gave her the fourth highest point total in the nation and earned her first team All-American honors.

The team finished the 2009 season ranked No. 10 and with this year's No. 7 ranking it has earned its highest ranking in program history and only its second-ever preseason ranking.

After a 17-5 record in 2008, the 2009 squad finished with a 17-4 record and its second consecutive Landmark Conference title, NCAA berth, and NCAA Regional Final appearance. CUA fell to regional tournament hosts Salisbury 18-14.

The 2010 team will have its chance at revenge on March 6, 2010 in only the second scheduled contest of the year as CUA will again travel to No. 2 Salisbury.  They will then travel to No. 3 Gettysburg before returning home to open its home schedule on Mar. 20 at noon against Stevenson.
