Lacrosse Teams to Host Friends of Jaclyn Event
Catholic University's men's and women's lacrosse teams will be raising money Sunday, March 27, to benefit the non=profit organization, Friends of Jaclyn. The men's squad will be selling CUA shorts, while the women's team will be collecting donations at their game v. Colorado College at 11 a.m.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. Through the “Adopt-a-Child” program, FOJ creates lasting relationships between children battling pediatric brain tumors and athletic teams. The child becomes an honorary team member, gaining a new group of friends, and the team gets inspiration from the child.
FOJ’s programs are based on love, support, and friendship between the child, the child’s family, and his or her “adopted” team. There are currently over 200 children across the country adopted in twenty different sports. 1,300 teams are waiting to adopt.
