Swarthout named a First Team All-Star by the ECAC
WASHINGTON – All-American Mary Swarthout added another accolade to her lacrosse resume on Tuesday after the ECAC named her to its Division III Metro/South All-Star Team. Swarthout was named to the first team following a season in which she totaled 65 goals and 92 points.
Swarthout had a terrific 2011 season for the Cardinals, leading CUA in goals (65), points (92), ground balls (52) and draw controls (57), while ranking second in caused turnovers (25) and third in assists (27). The Maryland native led the Landmark Conference in points and game-winning goals (4).
A three-time Landmark Conference Player of the Week, Swarthout received first team All-American, All-Region and All-Conference recognition and was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. She scored at least three goals in 13 different games.
2011 marked the third straight season in which Swarthout received All-American recognition.
