Women's lacrosse receives academic recognition

WASHINGTON – For the fourth consecutive year the CUA women’s lacrosse team has been honored as an IWLCA Academic Squad, it was recently announced.  In order to receive the honor teams must have a team grade point average of at least 3.0.

The Cardinals were one of 64 Division III institutions nationwide to receive the honor, and one of only 13 schools to be named to the Academic Squad and also compete in the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2010 season CUA won its third consecutive Landmark Conference championship and advanced to its third straight NCAA Tournament.  The Cardinals finished the season strong, winning 12 of their final 14 games as well as an NCAA Tournament game for the third straight season.  Nine players received All-Conference honors, while four were named All-Region and two earned All-America distinction.
