Paige Messersmith will enter her second season as an assistant with the Cardinals following a four-year playing career at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. A two-sport standout during her undergrad days, Messersmith excelled on the lacrosse and field hockey fields for the Green Terror.
In lacrosse, she is the Centennial Conference record holder for draw controls with 300 and was a four-time All-Conference selection and three-time All-Region honoree. In 2013, Messersmith was named an All-American, Centennial Conference NCAA Woman of the Year, and she was selected to play in the North-South All-Star game.
In field hockey, she ranks fourth all-time at McDaniel with 66 points and she ended her career in the top-10 for both goals and assists. In 2012, she set a new Green Terror single-season record for goals with (18) and points (45).
Messersmith earned Dean's List honors, both NFHCA and IWLCA National Academic Squad recognition and Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll accolades.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and is working toward her master's degree in psychology from Catholic University.
