Vika Planson joined the CUA women’s lacrosse coaching
staff for the 2013 season, coming to Washington with a wide range
of experiences on and off the field.
Planson graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2011 with a
bachelor’s degree in international relations. She also
studied abroad during the fall of 2009 at St. Petersburg University
in Russia, and completed the intensive Russian language program at
the Kathryn Wasserman Davis School of Russian at Middlebury College
in the summer of 2009.
Planson was a four-year member of the Mount Holyoke lacrosse
program, serving as co-captain and CORE leader in 2010-11.
She was the 2011 recipient of the Ruth C. Timm award as the team
MVP and the 2008 Lauren Filipiak award for the most dedicated
player.
Following graduation, Planson served as an international account
coordinator in New Gloucester, Maine for Planson International
Corporation, a woman-owned company that exports information
technology to United Nations, World Bank and USAID (U.S. Agency for
International Development) funded projects in developing
countries.
A native of Maine, Planson attended Hebron Academy, where she was
a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse program, helping to lead
the team to four conference championships. She also served as
captain for two years and was selected to the New England All-Star
Game as a senior.
