Donatelli named to NSCAA College Division Scholar All-East Region Team
WASHINGTON – Senior Katie Donatelli has been named an honorable mention selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Scholar All-East Region Team. An economics major, Donatelli appeared in 65 career games with the Cardinals, helping them win the 2009 Landmark Conference championship.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout his or her career and start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team. The student-athlete must also be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and be in his or her second year at the current school if he or she is a transfer student. The committee reviews both the academic and athletic accomplishments of the nominees.
A 2010 All-Landmark Conference First Team selection, Donatelli started 15 games this past season on defense for the Cardinals, helping to lead them to their third Landmark Conference Tournament appearance in the last four seasons.
A native of New York, Donatelli and the CUA defense ranked third in the conference in goals allowed and goals against average, holding 12 teams to one or fewer goals.
Donatelli is a multi-year member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
