WASHINGTON--- With its 2-1 win over Goucher in Capital Athletic Conference action Thursday afternoon, Catholic won their 10th game of the season, setting a school record for wins in a season. The previous best was nine victories, set in 1987 and 1991.
Freshman Laura Kaye (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) broke a 1-1 tie with just under six minutes in the game as she netted her 10th goal of the season with an assist from sophomore Jenny Aspinwall (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly).
Sophomore Aubrey Maki (Ravena, N.Y./Ravena) made it 1-0 with her unassisted goal in the 34th minute.
The Gophers (0-11-1, 0-5) answered early in the second half with a goal from Shoshanah Gibbs.
Senior Megan Baroody (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) earned the win, registering one save.
Catholic returns to action on Saturday, October 19th as they travel to York, Pa. to take on the Spartans of York College in a CAC matchup at 1 p.m.
