Salisbury 4, Catholic 1 Sept. 18, 2002

WASHINGTON - Salisbury scored two goals late in the second half to defeat Catholic 4-1 in a Capital Athletic Conference match. Seagulls Kristey Lillis and Heather Pallett each had a goal and an assist in the win.

The Cardinals (2-1, 0-1 CAC) had several offensive chances in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net with two of their shots striking the post. Salisbury's Kathleen Tiedemann scored in the 5th minute of play and Lillis in the 41st minute to give the Seagulls a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Laura Kaye, above, (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) scored Catholic's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 61st minute of play to bring the Cardinals within one.

The Seagulls proved too much for the Cardinals, however, as Ashley Martin and Pallett each had a goal in the 69th and 83rd minutes of play, respectively.

Megan Baroody (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) made three saves in goal for Catholic.

Catholic resumes CAC action on Thursday, Sept. 19, as they travel to Arlington, Va., to face Marymount at 7 p.m.
